BEGINNER SQUARE DANCE LESSONS:
We will have a new class for beginner lessons starting on Tuesday Feb. 23, 2010. It will meet each Tuesday evening from 7:30- 9:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church gymnasium in Marble Falls. Let's all encourage our friends to come and try this wonderful hobby! The classes run for 20 weeks. The first two lessons are free! Plus Lessons:
Club plus lessons are also in progress on Thursdays from 7:00 - 7:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church "old gym" in Marble Falls. The class is followed by our regular club dance. Classes are taught by Gary Bible. Angels are needed.
REGULAR CLUB SCHEDULE:
We dance every Thursday night from 7:30 until 9:30 pm with Mainstream and announced Plus level square dancing. Our caller is Gary Bible of Liberty Hill, TX. We are a friendly club and love visitors! Please come by.
We usually have line dancing between tips. We dance at the First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls. There is a map and directions at the bottom of this page. Check our calendar for upcoming events!
Wildflower Festival 2010
Our Annual Wildflower Festival is scheduled for March 27, 2010.
Please note a change of venue-The Wildflower Festival will be held at the Lakeside Pavilion in Marble Falls. The flyer is available for download on the Wildflower Festival page. Nothing has changed except for the location.
The caller will be Joe Saltel of Pharr, TX and David Meyer of San Antonio will be cueing. It will be an amazing day!! We will have workshops/funshops in the afternoon as well as pre-rounds. Always some wonderful food and fellowship! Plan to join us. The flyer is on the Wildflower Festival page.
CLUB HISTORY
The Country Cuzzins Square Dance Club was formed in 1978. For a short time the club danced in Marble Falls. About 1980 they began raising funds and working toward building their own square dance facility in Kingsland. With much community support, the Kingsland Community Center was completed in 1982 and the Country Cuzzins began dancing there. The Country Cuzzins danced at the Kingsland Community Center until July 2009 when we moved to the First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls.
Directions to First United Methodist Church, 1101 Bluebonnet Drive, Marble Falls (near the HEB store):
Enter from US Highway 281.
If coming North on 281 from Hwy 71 or 1431, • Left at 1st signal light North of 1431 (Walgreens on Right, Quality Inn on Left) onto Mission Hills • cross over LOW water crossing • pass driveway immediately before large metal gymnasium building. You will see a small playground and parking area. The best entrance to the main building is here. There is more parking around the corner in the large lot on Bluebonnet Dr.
If coming South on 281 from Burnet direction, • Right at signal light (U.S. Post Office on right, Walgreens to far left) onto Mission Hills • cross over LOW water crossing • pass driveway immediately before large metal gymnasium building.
