Good morning Cuzzins!
Riddle: What happens when your truck breaks down on the 1604 Loop at 6:00 PM on a Wednesday night? Well, you call AAA to assist and your truck is towed to a certified repair shop. Good, now what? How do you get home when it is after business hours and all the rental car offices are closed? AAA says you have to get a car at the airport. Hmmm…after calling every car rental agency at the San Antonio airport you find out that there are NO vehicles available, then what do you do? Answer: You thank God you are safe, and that the situation could have been far worse, and call your son who happily drives down to San Antonio after just getting home from work to rescue you. And when you get home and you realize that you haven’t yet sent out the Country Cuzzins’ weekly news …. well, you put it off ’til Thursday morning, of course. Sorry to be so late. Tonight we are celebrating October birthdays! Gene and Charlotte are our hosts and next week - the CUSTOMED HALOWEEN DANCE - Paula West, Robert MIller, Mary Stone, and Walt will host. Bring your cameras, smiles, and sense of humor to enjoy a howling good night! Many thanks to our guest caller last week, Al Frazier! Plus lessons will resume tonight at 6:00 PM with our resident caller, Wayne Weston. Thank you Wayne! Remember to review your Plus CD prior to lessons, it really does help. Regular dances starts at 7:00 PM - see you all there! Pepper and Paul Country Cuzzins Dance 13 October

Hello Cuzzins!
Happy Thursday!! Wow - the week sure has gone by fast! We’ve been watching our Plus CD in preparation for our next lesson - which is NOT this week! Lessons will resume next week as Wayne will be away this week. While Wayne is away Al Frazier has graciously agreed to be our caller - thank you, Al! Remember, regular dance starts at 7:00 PM. Hosts this week are Bob and Marie and next week, 20 October, will be Gene and Charlotte. Folks who signed up for the dinner date tomorrow please meet at the River City Grill at 5:30 PM. On 20 October we will celebrate all October birthdays. Don’t forget to take advantage of an opportunity to show off your outfits and fancy dance steps to promote square dancing this Saturday at the Llano Wild West Weekend from 11:00-11:30 AM on the Main Stage. Seven couples have signed up, more are welcome! Please contact Gene if you are interested in participating. Reminders, Repeats, and Redundancies: I hope you’ve been thinking about your Halloween costume because competition will be tough! I believe last year’s winners were a brave knight and his captured dragon - quite the duo! We had clowns, zombies, witches, and more, so get creative and join us for an amusing evening. Visit our website for some inspiration: http://www.countrycuzzins.com …did you know we had a website? Since we’re on the subject, the Sun City Sundancers wanted you to know about their Halloween dance: The Sun City Sundancers will host a Halloween Dance on October 31, 2016 in the Sun City Ballroom. Callers will be Brad Caldwell and Dan Nordbye and Rounds will be cued by Lucy Pate. Pre-Rounds begin at 6:30 pm and the dance will be 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Square Dance attire or Costumes are suggested. Donations are $6.00 for members and $7.00 for visitors. They ask that you share this info with your dance friends. This dance is always a "spook-tacular" event !!! See you in a square! Hello Cuzzins!
Hope you all had a great week and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Not much news, this will be our Fun Dance and a surprise theme for all of us. Stephanie Butler will join Paul and I for hosting duties and refreshments. Next week, 13 October, the Cuzzins will go out to eat (destination to be announced) and Bob and Marie Denniston will host. Thank you!! Have the DVD’s been passed out for the Plus Lessons? I know Paul and I need one, perhaps some extras are available yet? And a reminder from Gene: The Country Cuzzins will be performing at the Wild West Weekend in Llano on 15 October from 11:00-11:30 am on the Main Stage. Come strut your stuff with your square dance family in two weeks. A few signed up last night and we could use a few more for this exhibition. I am suggesting that after burn off a few calories on the main stage we mosey over to Castell for a burger. If you have not been to Castell General Store to eat, you are missing something and since we will be there with music, another chance to do an exhibition. I love putting videos of CC on social media. See you in a square! Pepper and Paul Country Cuzzins Dance 29 September

Hello Cuzzins!
Hosts this week at the Methodist Church are Judi and Michael. Next week are Charlotte and Gene. This is the fourth Thursday of the month - everyone wear your square dance costumes or your club colors, please. Plus lessons will be given by our wonderful caller, Wayne Weston! Lessons will start THIS THURSDAY, 22 September, from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and should finish around the end of December. Cost is $40 per person. The Country Cuzzins will be performing at the Wild West Weekend in Llano on 15 October from 11:00-11:30 am on the Main Stage - please consider dancing at this fun event! We were in attendance, along with Bailey and Gaynelle, at the Blanco County Courthouse Centennial Celebration on Saturday, 17 September. The parade started at 5 pm, and was very impressive. Very near the front (Gaynelle did not want to follow the horses!), Pepper, Gaynelle, and Bailey marched in the parade in their square dancin’ duds carrying our Country Cuzzins banner for all the spectators to see. Invitations for square dancing were distributed to attendees to let them know they can join in the fun. Halloween is next month, start thinking about your costume - and we have some very serious costume aficionados so competition for the best will be tough! See you in a square! Hello Dancers!
Paul & Pepper will open the dance this Thursday, 01 September, and Chuck & Laura will close. The following week, 08 September, Scott, Jim, and Penny will be our hosts. Remember to bring lots of snackin’ goodies to the dance this week. This is the first Thursday of the month Fun Dance where we will celebrate International Square Dance Month. If you have friends that have expressed interest in Square Dancing, this week's dance would be a good time to invite them to "check it out.” We'll have lots of information about Square Dancing, do some beginner level dances, and more. (This isn't an Open House, but is probably the best time before we get ready to start lessons again for non-dancing guests to come.) Another reminder: We need some volunteers to participate in the Blanco County Courthouse Centennial Celebration on Saturday, 17 September. The parade starts at 5 pm, you’ll need to be there at 4:30 pm to line up. We will wear our dancing outfits and walk/dance/twirl along the parade route twice around the courthouse. After that you are welcome to walk around and enjoy the festivities! Please let Pepper or Paul know if you are interested. Thank you, Bailey & Gaynelle, for volunteering to support this!
