Presidents - Gene & Charlotte Broadway
Gene and Charlotte met way back in time—more than 30 years ago (we celebrated 30 years of wedded bliss the 28th of July 2010).
Once upon a time we were competing at the world level in championship Tug-of-War. We had hoped that the event would be revitalized in the ’76 Olympics, but it was not to be. (The U.S. won gold in 1904 – last Olympic appearance of the sport was in 1920. This year’s world championship takes place in South Africa in September.)
We had many delightful times and dreams of gold, silver and bronze medals. Gene competed for the great state of Texas team in ’69 and ’73. Charlotte participated for the golden state of California team in ’66 and ’70 before both joined the national co-ed Tug of War Team in 1975. But that was another time and our Tug-of-War days are over, our ropes are all worn out, what used to be our sex-appeal is, well, just nowhere about!
Please do not tell our two adult daughters about our Tug-of-War history – they don’t know about our exciting and adventurous past. Amie is 28 living in Denton and working for Daiimler. Darcie is 26 living in Houston and working for Tellepson Construction.

Vice Presidents - Rick & Cheryl Mann
Rick and Cheryl met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend in July, 1996. We went dancing the night we met and danced every Friday night from then on. We were married on the top of a mountain in Whistler, BC in February, 1998.
Rick has had a wide variety of experiences…from being a French Chef to a tile contractor. Cheryl last worked at Panasonic selling fax machines and copiers. They are both retired. When trying to decide where they wanted to spend the rest of the lives, Rick went to Horseshoe Bay
TX to buy a boat back in April of 2004 (they were living in Southern California at the time). By July, 2004, they owned a house in Horseshoe Bay and moved here permanently the next year.
At a Halloween party in 2005, they met Les & Pat Fenter. Les asked us if we wanted to learn to square dance. I never thought Rick would say yes….but he did. Our first square dance was at Country Cuzzins’ Halloween Party. What an introduction – especially when everyone hugged us instead of shaking hands! Needless to say…we loved it and wondered why we didn’t do it earlier! Without a doubt, you meet the best people square dancing.
Rick has two kids. Michael is currently going to Brown Mackie College in San Antonio to become a surgical technician. Tiffany is going to Cal State Fullerton, studying to be a teacher. Tiffany is getting married on November 5th of this year.

Treasurers - Dick & Cindy Hollenbeck

Broadway
Dick and Cindy were an office romance. They met in 1980 in Cleveland, OH, and in 1981 got married and then relocated to Houston when Dick was transferred. In 1983, they started their own industrial automation controls company which they have operated together since. They were able to relocate to the Texas Hill Country in 1998, leaving the big city and fast life behind.
They have two sons, both degreed engineers. Gordon lives in Lynchburg, VA and works for a nuclear power plant design/operating firm. Darren lives in the Dallas, TX area with his wife, Jamie. Their first child, a girl, was born in December 2011. Darren develops software for the family business while attending university to obtain an additional degree and Jamie is in the IT department for Mary Kay.
Dick and Cindy have a long dancing history - their first dance together was in 1980 at a male striptease club in Cleveland, OH(and yes, Dick had his clothes on - he came in after the show). They decided to take up square dancing in 2009, graduating from mainstream class in Feb 2010.
